Let's dream 2010

November 2007 marks a memorable trip in my life. Its actually the first time i traveled the off-the beaten path ALONE in search of happiness. As i brave to look back at these photos roughly two years ago, memories kept popping, of motorcycle rides, of braving Central Visayas, of hitchhiking, and of trying to blend in with everyone. I thank my friend for helping me out and saving me from all the mambabarangs and homeless night out in the wilderness. Again thank you.
The years before 2010 were to me a long period of adjustment of trying to find myself and my essence as a human being, to be an artist, to be a whole person, to be passionate in whatever i do, in short I AM A DREAMER.

Traveling is probably the only passion i have that is consistent. I started traveling to find myself, and now i travel to fulfill myself. But i am not a millionaire, i am not rich. I travel on a budget. And i cannot travel all the time. I need to save up on my trips. And in between these trips, i have a life. Yes. Traveling the world is 100% me but also a huge percentage of my dream is aspiring to make a change in this world, to be the change in this world.

I am currently unemployed as of this writing, and 2010 marks my comeback career wise. As i wrote in my Facebook status. 2010 is the year of NEW LIFE, NEW LOVE AND NEW PASSPORT STAMPS.

I am blogging not to be popular. Maybe a little. But this i promise, unless i get poor never will i take advantage of my readers to earn money. I write my stories here to INSPIRE people to TRAVEL. I know a lot of people who haven't seen the other side of the world. And if i were given a chance, i would rather be poor but well traveled.

In this humble blog of mine, in the coming days will undergo some reconstruction. I will be writing stuff apart from traveling, like Style, Photography, Art, Pop Culture and maybe a couple of blah-blahs here and there as well.

"I hope this 2010, People will get richer, not only in money, but in mind, body and spirit. "

Let's all quit smoking.
Let's all love each other.
Let's all ask for forgiveness.
Let's all vote for the right leaders of our country.
Let's all love our parents.
Let's all travel the Philippines then the World.
Let's all travel and continue to DREAM..

  1. as requested jerik. Krystle here.

  2. ok for a first timer, i really suggest you do thailand first because its easy navigation pluse almost every province has something worth seeing.

but if you're set on laos-vietnam-cambodia. i have a question? how long are you travelling? two weeks? 1 month?

some say you cannot travel to so many places at a very short time, i say everything's possible but be aware of the consequences not enough sleep, too many bus rides etc.

i haven't been to laos. but there are must see places there based from my backpacker friend's recommendation like vientianne and vang vieng for luang prabang etc. i haven't been there but there's a route coming in from thailand. go to chiangmai then chiangrai then you would cross the border down the mekong river, aprrox 2 days of travel via long tail boat and not so good buses. or you can always fly to the capital but be aware that as they say laos planes aren't actually advisable but i have friends who tried the plane i met them in cambodia they're swiss couple.

  3. i think it takes about half a day by bus or even more from laos to north vietnam. i am not sure i will look into it more. i will tell you. there's so many places to go to in vietnam like the capital hanoi then maybe hue. On my last trip it was Saigon. i think i blogged about where to go in Saigon. Pretty pumping place to go to, its very alive a city. From Saigon you can take a bus to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, etc. all with stop overs to Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital.

Basically, i wanna know what's your plan? Where you heading so we can figure out. There's also a way from BKK to Siem Reap which i think seems quite a trip that i might do it this feb as i am visiting my canadian friend in Phnom Penh.

It really depends on how long are you staying. I roughly spend maybe a litte over P1000 a day and all because i was drinking too much. Accomodations shouldn't cost you more than P400 better if you're sharing. Food is about $1, Drinks about the same or $.70 per tall glass. Depends. what you'll be spending more would probably be the bus tickets, trains, plane tix if your taking them etc.

Do visit my blog entries on Vietnam and Cambodia, you can click on the right side from the list of places..

just message me more information like how many are you? where are your must see places? is it your first time backpacking SEA? first time out of the country. i can help you out if i can.. Message with you soon! Cheers krystle!

i know, us as compared to the foreign backpackers once they get to asia, they are millionaires, but us still its a challenge trying to stay as long as we can yet not having to spend much.

yeah i don't think its not good when you're earning from your blog, its just profit from all the hard work and passion for writing. so yeah,, hope we get to travel altogether and maybe bump into each other on the plane, on the train, the bus heck anywhere...

  7. "compared to the foreign backpackers once they get to asia, they are millionaires"

so true, not to mentioned the number of countries they can go to without visa...

one thing i love about reading travel blogs, like yours and gaye's... it embodies truthfulness and the simplicity of just living your dream and living life... which is sadly, misinterpreted by this society as just slacking off...

goodluck and more power sa blogging and traveling!!!
